how annary works
seven steps through annary – what you write, and what grows from it.
diary
a few notes a day, one line each. you can emphasise words and add a photo to a line.
people
a + marks a person. she gets her own page – a memory for your people grows on the side.
- coffee with +anna in the afternoon
- +timo dropped by
- called +clara in the evening
places
an @ marks a place. it gets its own page too – with everything that happened there.
- lunch at the @old-anchor
- a walk down at the @harbour
- worked from @home in the evening
kind of contact
after a name, a : says how it was: you met, called, wrote, thought of them or dreamt of them.
- ran into +anna in town
- called +timo:c in the evening
- sent +ben:t a message
- thought of +clara:o all day
- dreamt of +david:d last night
mood
five faces for a day. the statistics later show how your mood connects with the people and places around you.
topics
topics are words that keep coming back. you collect them under one name — “sport” may listen to running, gym and swimming. a person or place can trigger a topic too, even without the word.
- ran in the morning
- jogged after work
- a short race
finding again
search sits on top of every page – menu entry or shortcut. every person, place and topic also has its own page with all mentions, patterns and years at a glance.
now you
the rest happens by itself: write a few lines, and the pages fill up.
