what is annary – a digital diary and mood tracker?
annary is a digital diary with a mood tracker for a few lines a day. because people and places get their own pages, it also works like a private crm. from what you write, pages for people and places and topics appear on their own – you never have to create or sort anything.
how do i write a diary entry?
you just write. a + before a name turns it into a person, an @ into a place. a semicolon separates what doesn’t belong together – all examples are under diary.
how do i record whether i met someone or only called them?
after a name, a colon says how: :c called, :t messaged, :o thought of, :d dreamt. without it, you met. in the calendar those days carry their own symbol.
what does the diary calendar show?
the calendar shows when something happened: the people, places and topics of a month at a glance. for every name you decide yourself whether it appears – for a single day or always. what the symbols mean is under calendar.
is there a mood tracker in the diary?
yes, annary has a mood tracker: each day carries five faces; one tap sets your mood, another removes it. on the people and places pages you then see whether a name tends to go with brighter or lower days – see mood.
what are topics?
topics are words that keep coming back. you collect them under one name – “sport” may listen to running, gym and swimming. a person or place can trigger a topic too.
can i bring strava workouts into my diary?
yes. connect strava in the settings and your activities appear above the day. you choose which sports show up, in which unit and order – and you can drag an activity straight into your text. more under sport.
how do i add photos?
drag an image onto a line, or use the button in the formatting bar. the photo belongs to that line and shows up small beside it – and in the calendar, if you want. examples under photos.
how do i find old diary entries again?
search sits on top of every page (menu entry or cmd/ctrl + f). every person, place and topic also has its own page with all mentions, patterns and years – see finding again.
is my online diary secure and encrypted?
your entries and photos are stored encrypted (aes-256-gcm). they are not analysed, not sold and not shared with third parties. what the encryption does today – and what it does not yet do – is stated openly in the privacy policy.
can i export my diary?
yes, at any time. in the settings you download all entries as a markdown or json file – decrypted and not tied to annary. what is stored is listed in the privacy policy.
what does annary cost?
annary is currently in a closed alpha. you get in with an invite code; during this phase it is free to use. questions are welcome via the contact form.
